How to update the theme

Theme updates give you access to new features, improvements, and bugfxies. They are also important for keeping your website secure.

When you update the theme, your content will stay intact but before updating, it is recommended to make a backup of your website, just in case anything goes wrong. If you made any code changes to the theme files, move them to the child theme before updating.

There are thre ways how to update the theme:

• Update through WordPress by uploading new theme version
• Using an Envato Market Plugin
• Classic update method with FTP

Uploading through WordPress.

This is the easiest theme update method. Requires at least WordPresss 5.4 version.

• Login to your ThemeForest account and download lates version of the theme. Choose “Installable WordPress files only”.
• In WordPress, Appearance -> Themes click “Add New” then “Upload” and upload the theme zip file from Step 1.

The old theme version will be replaced by new theme version.

Using Envato Market plugin

This alows you to update the theme directly from your WordPress, However it requires you to install Envato Market plugin and create an Envato API key. You can download and install the plugin from GitHub: https://github.com/envato/wp-envato-market
After the plugin is installed and activated, click on “Envato Market” and add your Personal Token under Global OAuth Personal Token.

Classic update method

• Login to your ThemeForest account and download lates version of the theme. Choose “Installable WordPress files only”.
• Unzip the theme on your computer
• Login to your server with FTP and navigate to wp-content/themes/
• Copy the theme folder to your computer for backup and delete it on the server
• Upload the unzipped theme folder from your computer to the wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.

Updating plugins

We include some third party plugins with the theme, like Page builder, Contact Form 7 and Slider revolution. All plugins, which are available through WordPress can be updated just by clicking update in WordPress admin under “Plugins”.

Updating Slider Revolution

Slider revolution isn’t available on wordpress.org, so it can’t be updated the same way.

Updating Slider Revolution is a bit different. You don’t need to buy your personal license for Slider Revolution to update it. To get the latest version of the slider, which comes free with the theme, just follow this procedure:

1. In WordPress Admin interface navigate to “Plugins”
2. Find Slider Revolution and disable it, then delete it.
3. When you delete the plugin, the following notification will appear:
   
4. Click Begin installing plugin, then click install plugin. The latest version from our server will be downloaded.
5. If for some reason the notification does not appear, or you mistakenly close it, you can install the latest version of Slider Revolution under Appearance -> install plugins.
